Cheap tricks and recycled one-trick election tactics

We thought long and hard about how to open this one as its not going to be a popular critique in some circles. But detached objectivity in relation to the way candidates choose to conduct their campaigns is really our aim with all this. So seriously - just don’t. It's getting a bit like one-trick Gggareth for Gggarff now in that its endearing for about ten seconds when first seen due to its spectacular naivety. Then the complete lack of all substance just gets really annoying. But more to the point if you stand back a bit this sort of messaging is actually quite an insulting assessment of the presumed IQ of the voting public in Douglas South. It perhaps also ultimately portrays a distinct absence of confidence in what you think you‘re capable of bringing to Tynwald as an intelligent adult woman if the only thing of relevance you choose to continually push to the public is who your dad is [was].

We like MLP and we like this candidate too. But really this sort of endlessly recycled syrupy dynastic messaging cheapens absolutely everything you probably want to achieve. It also may well backfire.
