So he unsuccessfully stood for Legislative Council in 2019 (twice), for Douglas South in 2020, and he is now apparently standing for Arbory, Castletown & Malew in 2021. He also nearly bought the Castlemona Hotel until he was told by his lawyer that monopoly money isn't actually legal tender and successfully crowdfunded over four grand towards his billion pound Planetary E.G.G project.
God loves a trier as they say. But as they proclaimed in Monty Python's Holy Grail all the way back in 1975 ..
Which seems to be the real problem for the self-styled HM Sole King of Moreaceae. It's much easier to crown yourself as a fake King, or to make up fantasy investment schemes to impress the gullible with, than it is to convince a majority of your peers that you aren't actually completely bonkers.
Yet even the Manx press appears to continually be quite soft on this over confident local political enigma suggesting that he may well possess the powers of Little Britain's equally over optimistic hypnotist Kenny Craig when they look into his eyes. But without a doubt he is turning into the Isle of Man's very own version of Count Binface - a candidate who also specialises in standing in repeat comedy elections just for the personal publicity that they generate.
Of late after the burst of publicity surrounding the HM Sole (who in Clark Kent mode also goes by the name of Ian Clanton) candidacy little seems to have actually filtered out into the public domain other than a very brief link on the Manx Radio election page.
This is presumably due to the generally poor reception of almost everything he said or did in relation to last years Douglas South election. We really hope to see much more content from Ian from Castletown very soon. Let's not forget that Castletown even has a proper castle so if successful the investiture could be a real family event.
