More opposition in the Ayre?

Updated: Jun 5, 2021

So hot on the back of Professor Yaffle's re-election campaign announcement of last week we get another candidate in Ayre and Michael coming forward in the form of Tim Johnston. His candidacy adds to the recent announcement from Paul Weatherall of Liberal Vannin that he will also be fighting for a seat. So it seems that the stuffy old wooden bookend that is Tim Baker, who still publicly pretends to be so clever in the face of an ever expanding wall of contradictory evidence, now has two very credible candidates vying for his seat in September.

This really is starting to feel like an election where any candidate who isn't a returning candidate has a really good chance of gaining momentum.

Better still Mr Johnston works for the local NFU and so presumably likes farmer things. Which is likely a big thing up in Ayre. Especially when Professor Yaffle, his bespectacled and supercilious opposition, seems to be an integral part of a mission that is hellbent on covering the rest of the Island in cheap Chinese granite and concrete fixtures that wouldn't look out of place in a Las Vegas Wallmart carpark.

As you can't vote None Of The Above this time round please do give a new candidate with no baggage a fair chance of convincing you that they will at least be a catalyst for change and not another feeble government puppet taking the Queens Shilling to eke out the rest of their working days and top-up their pension on the taxpayer.
