It seems that things are once again hotting up in Onchan with even James Corrin attempting to stoke the Facebook fumes of General Election infighting over the existence of the phantom banner shredder of Old Onchan Town who seems to have now destroyed election banners erected by both Ms Julie Edge and Mrs Daphne Hilary Penelope Pitstop Caine. Both candidates promotional banners being savagely removed in the last few days in what looks like they could be acts of wanton electoral sabotage.

Its not the first time its happened in Onchan either with Vote for Quirky signs rumoured to have been mysteriously removed from near the Onchan roundabout during the 2016 election. All of which inevitably leads to online speculation regarding the potential culprit and their possible motives.
As the two affected candidates are the only ladies standing in either Onchan or adjoining Garff are we dealing with a strange and frustrated Onchan misogynist who secretly walks the streets of Onchan after dark, or are supporters of other candidates swaggering around Onchan with their switchblades flashing like the droogs in Anthony Burgess's A Clockwork Orange cutting out all traces of any candidates they don't like.
Or perhaps both Onchan Dr Evil doppelgangers Rob Callister and Peter Willers have formed a bald mans alliance and are using Rob's best tree lopping axe from his wood shed to try to get a few crafty political points across?
Whatever the reason it will no doubt now be blown out of all proportion for the Facebook brigade in the quest to try to generate some vague election content in amongst the staggering silence in both Onchan and Garff in relation to any real election issues being discussed publicly. So roll on the only Onchan public meeting on the 8th September!
Joking aside though there's some very dirty politics going on in Onchan - there was in 2016 as well when the main target looked to be David Quirk. So hopefully someone will get to the bottom of it but we won't be holding our breath. In fact there's enough bullies and misogynists on the Commissioners that its probably their very own Black-Ops unit!
