So it seems that yesterdays rumour surrounding Manx Radio funded shock jock Stu Peters is true and that he too has now declared for Middle alongside the Accidental Partridge that is Mr David Fowler and Keiran 'Super Hans' Hannifin. This completes just about the best comedy general election line up ever seen in one IOM constituency ever.

In response we hear that Chairman of Braddan Commissioners, Andrew Jessopp, is rumoured to be considering invoking emergency powers to establish Braddan as free state which falls outside of direct Tynwald control as the IOM's very own Hazzard County steps into overdrive.
No doubt it won't take long for Mr Peters [who appears to constantly attempt to court public controversy] to put his foot in it and upset some significant voter group. Most likely via some outburst against wokery or jibes at millennial snowflakes - or some other monologue that he has stolen from one of former Island resident Jeremy Clarkson's TV shows or newspaper columns.
In the clip above he is also asking those who aren't necessarily buying into his candidacy at this stage to sit down with him and discuss their concerns over a coffee rather than challenge him over social media. Hopefully in this post pandemic world where supporting local businesses is even more important than usual that coffee will be made from local milk. The cost of which, and his refusal to use it in his former coffee shop, is another thing he has raged about on social media in the past to his significant detriment.
As with all candidates standing we wish him well and we look forward to reading his manifesto in due course and hope that it won't just be a Clarksonesque list of topics or people that get on his nerves [which to be fair seems to be the sum total of a lot of candidates manifestos so far]. But for now it looks like Hazzard has a new potential boss. And that boss is going to have a lot to say over the next few months!
