The Election Ticket that Exploded?

It looks like the battle of Tim Baker MHK to win friends and influence people in the run up to the September election has moved to a whole new level today with a report of the Isle of Man Meat Head seemingly exploding with rage at Chris Robertshaw MHK over questions put to him in Tynwald earlier this week.

Isle of Man Newspapers report:

In his attack Mr Baker is reported as accusing outgoing Douglas East MHK Mr Robertshaw of speaking "absolute drivel and rubbish" then with almost Evangelical zeal the well-known but far from well-liked Northern happy clapper reportedly added "If you are basically honest you see things as honest and if you are not you don't". For context let us be clear that these statements were made defending what certainly looks like bad culture and possible sharp practice at Isle of Man Meats. A government owned arms-length company where several employees were only prepared to make statements to a recent government committee investigating concerns under promise of anonymity - such was the fear of workers being bullied for being honest and speaking up.

So here we see Professor Yaffle once more in full attack mode yet again defending indefensible and unacceptable government behaviour. This time defending a management team which reports into him in an organisation that he is responsible for where it has been alleged that bullying, poor governance, and sharp practice might be endemic and worthy of further investigation.

Some voters may well believe that Mr Baker was given a poison chalice in relation to his role as Minister for Infrastructure. Equally some Ayre and MIchael voters may be unconcerned about the incompetent over-budget carnage on Douglas Promenade as it doesn't directly affect them. But what now seems clear is that Professor Yaffle presides over several rotten government empires and is prepared to go aggressively on the attack in order to defend the actions of alleged bullies that he himself is responsible for employing. More questions that need to be asked on the doorsteps of Ayre and Michael we suggest .. although we suggest that you probably ask nicely otherwise like Mr Robertshaw you might get a right mouthful!

So stealing from William S Burroughs for our title to this piece we ask readers - is Tim Baker's 2021 election ticket one that has now well and truly exploded?
